Vice President, Business Consulting

Corazon, a national leader in strategic service line development for hospitals and health systems is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our growing team as a Vice President of Business Consulting.

Position Scope: Provides management oversight for the business consulting services within the Consulting business unit at Corazon, including, but not limited to, people management and mentoring, process management, template update and management, and client management. Imparts insight to team to drive overall client success and satisfaction. Works to procure additional new business opportunities for Corazon. Bears a fiduciary responsibility to the firm in the professional conduct, execution of the position duties, knowledge of confidential information and discretion in all communications to staff and peers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs the activities of the Consulting business unit in partnership with the SVP, Clinical Consulting on a weekly and monthly basis with emphasis on team capacity, process standardization, performance, and ultimately client success;
  • Responsible for participation in leadership meetings, the development and implementation of the strategic plan initiatives related to the Consulting division, and special assignments as directed by management.
  • Works to meet and exceed the Consulting business unit’s performance goals for the month, quarter, and year;
  • Ensures that the consulting subspecialty (service line) divisions maintain a standardized approach related to client delivery, including the incorporation of standardized client templates and models.
  • Assigns consulting team members to client engagements with input from the sales leads; Ensures the right team member is assigned given the project specifics.
  • Assists the Vice Presidents in each division with completion any work plans related to specific service line growth initiatives.
  • Participates in Corazon’s promotional activities, speaking engagements, professional societies, and meetings with the business/health care community. Provides articles for publication in journals and news articles.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills in the areas of Corazon’s business consulting, including reimbursement changes, federal and state regulations, and operational efficiencies.
  • Works with contacts in the healthcare industry to identify new business opportunities for Corazon and to understand the impact of impending or current practice changes in the field. Collaborates with the President/Executive Vice President to identify and approach sales prospects and other new business development opportunities. Upon request, will work with sales team to review proposals and deliver sales presentations.
  • Works with HR and the leadership team to determine the hiring and selecting of candidates for open positions. Conducts performance appraisals for direct reports and contributes to the evaluations of all team members.
  • Provides oversight and mentorship for orientation of new hires to the consulting team. Acts as mentor and resource to other Corazon staff and provides feedback to promote their continued development.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up to date consulting delivery model.
  • Acts as an Account Manager on many engagements to ensure client needs are met, the terms of the engagement are fulfilled, and invoicing (especially consulting team expenses) and payments are processed according to the contract terms; facilitates problem solving that may arise with a client.
  • Works to assure team has exposure to a variety of project types. Supports employee professional development plans that allow for new learning and professional growth.
  • Assures that the team is working to achieve on time completion, works within the project scope, and achieves high client satisfaction rates. Reinforces identification of up-sell opportunities to be passed to the Sales team.
  • Works with IT staff to leverage CRM’s project management support tools to allow for real-time reporting on client project delivery. 
  • Responsible for evaluating the need for sub-contractors to deliver consulting services.
  • Identifies and procures new business opportunities (e.g., upsell, cross-sell, lead generation) for Corazon and its Ingenovis ‘sister’ companies;
  • Ensures administrative tasks required of management (i.e., monthly reports) are completed in a timely fashion thereby meeting company deadlines;
  • Develops and maintains operational policies and procedures for the Consulting business unit; and,

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Management experience in Healthcare Finance and/or Healthcare Decision Support preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience working in Healthcare Finance or Deceision Support (or related roles) required.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the service line management model in healthcare and its related business implications.
  • Experience in a consulting role with project leadership would be beneficial.
  • Ability to facilitate change, influence decision-making, and effective communication (written and verbal) is required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

Accreditation Surveyor

Position Scope: Key supporting role for the Corazon Accreditation Business Unit and its clients. This will involve securing, prepping, and managing the accreditation client, project materials, analyzing outcomes data, on site program evaluation, synthesizing findings, briefings, presentations to the client and ongoing back-office support.  Responsible for communicating with the Corazon Accreditation Business Unit team and client project lead to ensure client satisfaction, deliver a quality work product, identify opportunities, and facilitate a successful onsite program evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Observes, analyzes, and evaluates the provision of cardiovascular care services to ensure adherence and compliance to professional standards of practice, clinical societal guidelines, Corazon Accreditation standards and state regulatory language, as required.
  • Evaluate the administration/adherence of the facilities policies and procedures to ensure compliance with clinical best practices, state statutes and regulations, as required.
  • Provides time and expense updates to ensure appropriate resource allocation.
  • Works with the Accreditation Business Unit Coordinator and client to schedule kick-off calls, ongoing conference calls, and onsite evaluations to meet client need. 
  • Enters client level information (service activities, travel, and network touch points, etc.) into the Corazon CRM system.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations, written and standardized deliverables as part of the onsite evaluation, conducts onsite debrief sessions recognizing client needs and the intended audience. Conducts presentations displaying the Corazon expertise and industry relevant information.
  • Prepares and completes required Accreditation deliverables, reports and letters, which detail opportunities noted during the facilities evaluation.
  • Communicate and correspond with state departments of health telephonically and/or electronically representing Corazon and the client in a professional manner, as required.
  • Retrieve, analyze and synthesize registry outcomes data quarterly to ensure compliance with Corazon standards and program evaluation processes.
  • Maintains professional client relationships. Facilitates problem solving with an understanding of client interests. Apply maximum effort to meet client need. Communicates and requests assistance as needed.
  • Recommend action for Accreditation renewal, non-renewal, or revocation should it occur, and communicate with the Accreditation Business Unit Leader as needed. 
  • Understands the clients’ business need to identify areas of new business for sales, company resources, (Medical Advisors), and expansion of client deliverables.  Recommends additional work to clients, when appropriate.
  • Communicate opportunities for additional project work to the Accreditation Business Unit Leader and Sales team.
  • Maintains SME and best practice knowledge in areas of expertise. Reads and discovers books, articles, reference materials, and news items that add to the firm’s intellectual base.
  • Participate in Corazon’s promotional activities, article and blog submissions, speaking engagements, professional societies, and meetings with the business/health care community. Provides articles and blog submissions for publication in journals, websites, and social media platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of clinical day-to-day or leadership work experience in the cardiovascular catheterization laboratory and/or cardiovascular service line in a hospital setting preferred.
  • A current licensed Registered Nurse, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.)
  • Work experience in a hospital setting within cardiovascular, neuroscience or orthopedic clinical areas preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the health care industry, preferably from the cardiovascular clinical perspective, with exposure to neuroscience and orthopedic services.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of skills related to hospital-based and outpatient services and/or clinical operations.
  • Consultation skills, including the ability to effectively listen and communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting.   
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical or business discipline.
  • Computer software skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of Power B.I.

Senior Healthcare Consultant

Corazon, a national leader in strategic service line development for hospitals and health systems is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our growing team as a Senior Healthcare Consultant.

Position Scope:  Key leadership role on consulting projects with particular responsibility of oversight/accountability of client relationships, project deliverables, and ensuring deliverables meet the client’s expectations. Develops project work plan and guides the team in providing on-time client deliverables.  Assures timely communication with team members and the client and provides recommendations and next steps based on expert knowledge and judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for communicating with the Corazon team to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Able to function in the role of Project Leader and/or Project Support for all project assignments.
  • Reviews and reports to the Account Manager the project progress with work plan.  Provides time and expense updates to ensure appropriate resource allocation and the match of appropriate resources to project scope and pricing.
  • Coordinates project meetings, internally and with the client. Communicates availability to assist other Corazon personnel on additional assignments.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations, including staff education sessions, from concept to delivery recognizing client need and the intended audience. Conducts presentations displaying the Corazon expertise and current market knowledge.
  • Prepares reports for client consumption that summarize key findings and recommendations in a clear, distilled, and logical manner.
  • Collaborates with Delivery Coordinator and other office personnel to prepare materials to meet client needs. Uses these administrative resources to assure all team members are working at their highest skill level.
  • Maintains professional client relationships. Responds readily to service requests.
  • Facilitates problem solving with an understanding of the client’s interests. Applies maximum effort to meet client need.
  • Understands the clients’ business needs to identify areas of new business.  Recommends additional work to clients, when appropriate. Communicates opportunities for additional project work to the Account Manager and/or sales team.
  • Maintains leading edge knowledge and skills in areas of expertise. Reads and discovers books, articles, reference materials, and news items that add to the firm’s intellectual base.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the health care industry, preferably from the cardiovascular, neuroscience, orthopedic and/or physician practice/partnering perspective. 
  • Three years of previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to diverse audiences with poise and credibility.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of skills related to clinical operations and program development.
  • Consultation skills, including the ability to effectively listen and communicate, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical discipline required; Masters Degree strongly preferred.

Healthcare Services Account Executive

Corazon, a national leader in strategic service line development for hospitals and health systems is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our growing team as a Healthcare Services Account Executive (Consulting, Recruitment, and Accreditation & Peer Review).

Position scope: Represents Corazon with an integrated ownership of sales contracts from lead generation of potential sales prospects through negotiation and close of agreement. Effectively uses a consultative sales approach to determine the prospect’s needs and leverage tactics that are common within the sales processes at a professional services firm. Works with the sales team to seek, evaluate, and produce sales leads and opportunities for the firm with accountability to the COO/EVP.

Responsibilities:

  • Responds in a timely manner to leads and prospects, compiles related analysis, and cultivates new business relationships;
  • Develops consulting proposals with further assistance from the sales team to ensure they are succinct, appropriate to need, priced appropriately, and are sent timely;
  • Recommends product(s) or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential;
  • Works collaboratively with the team to identify and cultivate cross-selling across business units;
  • Creates plans to identify new leads and works with the sales team to conduct calls, shuffles etc., to identify contacts and potential clients;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three to Five years of successful sales experience preferably in healthcare service sales with the ability to facilitate change, influence people, and effectively listen and communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
