Karen has been a part of the healthcare industry for decades, creating a diverse career based on her experience in finance, human resources, and information technology. As Corazon’s President, she is the leader in driving excellence among the team, pursuing sales opportunities and closing contracts with client first of mind, while her strategic mind and big-picture perspective gives significance to her the visionary talents to lead Corazon through development of new services and specialties.

Under Karen’s management, the company has grown to over 30 employees and named “Best Places to Work” with Modern Healthcare for the 8th year, clients in over 40 states and has implemented recruitment; interim management services and most recently, launched an IT application for the care management of stroke patients.

With her significant experience in hospital finance, and innovative approach, Karen was the driving force behind the proven market and financial models used to provide clients with an advantage over their competition. With a special interest in hospital/physician relations, she understands the best ways to structure partnerships that work, bringing in-depth experience and expertise in creating solid joint venture and management service agreements. With focus on healthcare reform, accountable care, and bundled payment initiatives, Karen knows how best to position a healthcare organization for success in today’s changing regulatory climate.

With Karen’s leadership, Corazon was named one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” from 2009-2013, listed among the 2004-2007 and 2009 “Pittsburgh 100” – the 100 fastest growing businesses in the Pittsburgh region, as well as listed on Inc. Noted for her hard work and dedication, Karen was the recipient for the 2007 Regent’s Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives, the 2008 “Pacesetters Award” from Smart Business Magazine Pittsburgh, the 2014 “Business Women First Award” from the Pittsburgh Business Times, and the 2018 “Distinguished Alumni Award” from La Roche College. She is a Past-President of the Western PA Chapter of the ACHE, and was a member of the Regent’s Council.

Ross brings an advanced practice acute and critical care nursing background to Corazon, having worked at the busiest cardiology and heart surgery program in the world. In that role, he successfully promoted best practices in medical and nursing care models and was instrumental in the development of many clinical pathways, protocols, and procedures. His involvement in the critical care standards committee is a platform for his expertise in all specialty service lines. Throughout his career, he has worked in both community hospital settings and large tertiary medical centers. This broad experience lends credibility to his involvement with creating efficient service line structures at clients across the country. Well-versed in the clinical and operational aspects of care delivery and efficient patient-centered facility design, he recommends solutions for optimal patient flow to streamline costs and quality for the full continuum of patient care. His communications background, with special interests in team-building and shared governance structures, along with strong writing and presentation skills, make him a valuable asset to the Corazon team.

As an Executive Vice President at Corazon, David is an integral part of the management team of the firm, actively participating in business development activities, strategic alliances, client relations, and internal company operations. David manages the Consulting Division for Corazon and has vast experience in leading client projects, working with financial modeling and market analyses, as well as strategic business opportunities. He shows versatility in his combination of experiences and abilities, and combines a solid foundation of business management, physician practice management, and human resource knowledge with superb communication and presentation skills making him a valuable asset to Corazon.

As a Senior Vice President, Steve has become an integral part of the Corazon team. As a team-oriented player well-versed in the business environment, Steve is able to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization. He has excelled in promoting Corazon’s second office location throughout the state of Florida and having a presence within the area has been beneficial to Corazon as a whole. His positive attitude and product/service positioning skills make Steve a valuable asset to the Corazon Team and our clients and colleagues across the country.

Amy has worked in various clinical settings throughout her career in healthcare and has strong clinical and operational expertise in the cardiac cath lab environment. She has over 20 years of hands-on clinical work, she has been involved in the daily operations of Cath Lab management and practice, and has participated in numerous emergency and routine studies. An expert in her field, she brings a solid cardiac background to her role at Corazon. Amy has special training and extensive experience with emergency and routine high-risk Coronary Angiography, Angioplasty and Stents, Heart and Peripheral Vascular Studies. She has solid experience in integrating physicians within the hospital cardiovascular strategic plan and bringing key stakeholders together to achieve a common vision.

Kristin is a data management expert with a solid education in both finance and accounting. She understands the fundamentals of economic and financial principles and how these forces impact the market and likewise affect Corazon’s clients across the country. Her vast client experience has enabled her to increase her knowledge and understanding of the business environment while being capable of performing market analyses, feasibility studies, and business plans for well-developed or newly-expanding specialty service lines. She also brings in-depth hands-on expertise with the strategy and finances of creating physician/hospital relationships, employment models, and other alignment structures and the associated analytics. With her team attitude and strong worth-ethic, Kristin is a valuable asset to the Corazon Business Team.

Michelle brings over 37 years of professional and clinical experience in all aspects of healthcare, including Cardiovascular and Neurosciences, along with 20 years in Nursing Leadership to her role as a Senior Vice President at Corazon. She was most recently a Chief Nursing Officer and has extensive experience with quality management, employee engagement through shared governance, fiscal management through supply value analysis, and “best practice” patient care. Michelle is a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Florida and strives to provide the best service for Corazon’s clients and the patients they serve. With her strong clinical background, strategic thinking, and vast leadership experience, Michelle is a valuable member of the Corazon team.

With a background in marketing and event planning, Maggie brings a strong work ethic, creativity, and enthusiasm to her role as Marketing Manager. Her professional skills include event planning, web and graphic design, administrative operations, and database management for the distribution of company materials. Maggie leads all marketing projects, such as articles, conference planning, social media, and other items for print and media. Through her eagerness for learning, ability to multitask, and creativity, Maggie is a valuable member of the Corazon team.
