Karen has been a part of the healthcare industry for decades, creating a diverse career based on her experience in finance, human resources, and information technology. As Corazon’s President, she is the leader in driving excellence among the team, pursuing sales opportunities and closing contracts with client first of mind, while her strategic mind and big-picture perspective gives significance to her the visionary talents to lead Corazon through development of new services and specialties.

Under Karen’s management, the company has grown to over 30 employees and named “Best Places to Work” with Modern Healthcare for the 8th year, clients in over 40 states and has implemented recruitment; interim management services and most recently, launched an IT application for the care management of stroke patients.

With her significant experience in hospital finance, and innovative approach, Karen was the driving force behind the proven market and financial models used to provide clients with an advantage over their competition. With a special interest in hospital/physician relations, she understands the best ways to structure partnerships that work, bringing in-depth experience and expertise in creating solid joint venture and management service agreements. With focus on healthcare reform, accountable care, and bundled payment initiatives, Karen knows how best to position a healthcare organization for success in today’s changing regulatory climate.

With Karen’s leadership, Corazon was named one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” from 2009-2013, listed among the 2004-2007 and 2009 “Pittsburgh 100” – the 100 fastest growing businesses in the Pittsburgh region, as well as listed on Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 5000” list, a ranking of the top 5000 companies nationwide. Corazon was also named one of the “Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania” in 2006, 2007, and 2009, ranked as one of the “Best Places to Work in Western PA” in 2009, and one of the “Top 50 Best Places to Work in Pittsburgh” in 2007. Noted for her hard work and dedication, Karen was the recipient for the 2007 Regent’s Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives, the 2008 “Pacesetters Award” from Smart Business Magazine Pittsburgh, the 2014 “Business Women First Award” from the Pittsburgh Business Times, and the 2018 “Distinguished Alumni Award” from La Roche College. She is a Past-President of the Western PA Chapter of the ACHE, and was a member of the Regent’s Council.
